Groceries

My goal for this year is to keep our weekly  grocery budget $50 or under for a family of 6 (2 adults, 17, 14, 3, 2 yr old).  I started the last week of December and have done great so far!

What is your weekly grocery budget?

PC

Noggin & The baby have a Permanency Conference tomorrow.   I'm sure it'll go pretty quickly keeping the goal with reunification.  Bio Mom is attending by phone because she has to work.

Christmas Visits

So, Noggin and The Baby’s bio mom and her fiancĂ© moved into their own home last week and I just knew what was coming next.  Yep, you guess it, they asked for the kids to come to their home for an extended visit for Christmas.  Extended being four or five nights!!!!!!!

Can I just tell you how upset I was when I found out this thought was actually being entertained?  My concern is not that the kiddos would not be with us for Christmas but safety.  I am hoping that after their home is inspected and all parties (CASA, counselor, and social worker’s supervisor) have been contacted the answer will be no.  I am believing in God to shut this door.  I could stomach an overnight visit but come on …..four or five nights.

As of today, this moment, as I type this post Carrot Top is spending Christmas with our family.

Please say a prayer for Noggin and The Baby that this visit will not happen.  It’s just to much to soon.

Christmas Party.....Fostering Style

We've been helping with organizing the Christmas Party for the foster children.  I am so excited that I was able to get a local conference center to donate the use of their facility!!!

However, I am not excited that it is worse than pulling teeth to get more than three other foster parents to help with anything!!
