Finally, we have completed everything and last Monday I emailed our family's TB skin test results to the sw. The sw checked on our homestudy and as of this past week we are still waiting on the updated homestudy approval.
The updated homestudy was sent off for approval about six weeks ago. The supervisor who approved us the last time for a relative adoption is out because she had some sort of surgery. So, there is another supervisor who is covering for the supervisor who is out. More than understandable but I am ready to get the license and at least be on a list to receive a call!
Our sw told me last week that she to wishes the approval would get completed as we are having numerous removals in our county alone. The was a newborn baby removed from its home last weekend and placed with a foster home because of a broken arm. Very, very sad.
As you all can image (as I am sure you remember being at this phase) we are so anxious to actually have a child placed in our home to help. But until then, we will continue to pray for the children that need help through the foster system that may come to our home. I don't mean we are praying for these children to be in a bad situation, Don't mean that at all. But for the children that are in an abusive or neglected home, I do pray these issues surface so that the child can be helped and that the parents can get the help they need to be successful and reunited in cases that this is possible.
Our kids are out on spring break this week!! Have a good week and keep the hope that our approval will come this week!t
