We attended our first PRIDE class which was an all day class 8am - 5pm. This class was very informational and I have to say that the instructor's were very upfront and did not sugar coat the information that was being provided.
Most of the people in attendance were pursuing adoption. Only ourselves and one other lady were interested in becoming foster homes. This was very sad to me. I know there is a need for adoptive families but what happens in the meantime? Saddens me that we seem to have such a shortage of foster homes and the persona that goes along with fostering. The persona does not bother me personally -you know what people think of us for fostering- however it does sadden me that the persona keeps one from fostering....
