The Waiting Game

If there is no other game that you learn to perfect in foster care....you will most perfect "The Waiting Game" before you even realize that you have!

We are still waiting on a call for a placement. We currently have 3 openings available right now since we completed our re-eval and increased our approval from being approved to foster 2 children to 3.

The house is still so quiet around here since the little ones are gone. We miss them so much......

My husband's dad still continues to battle the leukemia. Such a terribly sad cancer.

My 17 year old daughter has been busy playing high school softball. My oldest daughter is getting married on April 23rd (nerve racking to say the least), and our son just turned 13 years old!!

I hope that very, very soon I am writing a post to tell you all that we have a placement. I felt God tell me today that I need to be ready. I told him that I was. His reply was ....No, I mean really, really ready. My response that I spoke a loud was.....Yes, Father I am really, really ready!

Praise God for this journey!

  1. I call the foster care waiting game "Foster Pregnancy." I've been "Foster Pregnant" since THANKSGIVING when my baby girls when home to live with their daddy. It's definitely frustrating, but you get used to it. I just try to enjoy the time between placements now... To relax a little and decompress a little bit from all of the craziness that is Foster/Adopt Land. Just hang in there, and use this little bit of "free time" to your advantage! :-)

  2. I completely agree about the decompressing! Same exact word that my hubby used to describe the time!!!hahaha

I only wish I could use this time to relax but with planning for the wedding there has not been much relaxing. But I am ready and waiting for a placment.

Wow, "Foster Pregnant" since THANKSGIVING!! That is such a long time....I hope you get a placement really soon:)

  3. There is nothing in the world that involves more waiting than foster care. Waiting for placement, then court, then visits, then progress, then more court, then answers to questions, then more court, then DNA, then more answers, then TPR or transition home, then more court, then signing, then finalization...you understand I am certain. But in the end...it is so worth all the waiting and such a great opportunity to get closer to the Lord as you learn the patience part of the waiting. Not fun at the time but you do forget...just like labor :) and then (if you are crazy like me) you are ready to do it all over again. :)

Hope you get a call really soon.

  4. We are currently waiting to adopt our now legally free foster baby! Waiting until he becomes a US citizen first. We are waiting for a girl, but won't open back up until fall to give our 3-year-old time to adjust to full-time daycare.
