after court (which I will post about later) never ceased to amaze me. Well, maybe not amaze me but you get the picture! Here are some pieces of info from our last interaction:
* Both Bio Mom and Bio Dad show up to court DIRTY, DIRTY, DIRTY!
* while sitting outside the court room she tells me that they keep talking to her and her husband about their meth use but their real problem is pot
* when her family gets on her nerves she leaves the kids in her house and goes for a walk on their 8 acres of land, smokes pot and it relaxes her
* she did not wear a bra to court
* she tells me after replacing the carpet in their home, she placed a sign on her front door that she hopes no one is offended by that says "take yo damn shoes off
* that she and the boys stayed up late every night and watched Family Guy together
* that the Wii game really taught her kids alot
* that CPS has been involved in their lives the past 3 years
* that she was in foster care
* Bio Dad tells me he has been to AA meetings so many times that he can complete the 12 steps with his eyes closed
Well, that is all I can think of right now. Through all of these comments I did my best to just listen to her. I offered no words of advice but if she could have only heard my thoughts....
I have such mixed feelings about these people but the important thing is that Waylon and Presley love them and God loves them. I hope that one day this bio mom and dad are able to get their lives together for these two precious boys that are in our home that love them dearly and yearn to be back in their homes with their momma, daddy and brothers.

oh my. it is crazy what people will tell you. i have sat in awe several times wondering how their brain is not telling them to stop.
ReplyDeleteOh goodness. It sounds awful, but when I was a caseworker, I really just got a kick out of sitting in the waiting room at court!
ReplyDeletehere's one for you:
ReplyDeleteI ran into a BM while at court with another BM. I asked how court went and she said,"They filed the TPR paperwork, but I think I'll have him with me by Christmas."
(he's been in care for 16 months,) I don't know if she's in denial or just that ignorant.
Leah, I'm telling you I don't know what is going on in their brains!
ReplyDeleteMaggie, I don't think I knew you were a caseworker!! I need to go back through your blog and read again:)
D, Wow, again I just don't know what is going on in their brains!!! But that one ranks right at the top...lol!
